WORKS IN ENAMEL

Each work is made from multiple layers of vitreous enamel kiln-fired onto steel and copper which I have cut, hammered or bent by hand. Annealed or coated copper wire joins individual panels. Wall pieces are suspended from salvaged copper pipe wrapped in copper wire, or from salvaged wood treated with either oil or a fire-and-wax technique. “Birdcage” chimes hang from my hand-hammered copper bowls. I cut and tune my own chimes from copper pipe, and make strikers from leftover scraps of Brazilian Walnut (Ipe). Bowls are hand-cut and hand-hammered from 18-gauge sheet copper, and, like my other works, require several separately fired layers of enamel with sgraffito, drawing, and color mixing techniques which render each piece unique.

My enamels are currently available through the Art Spirit Gallery, Delia Dante Gallery, at art festivals, and right here
